T/CCI is a world leader in compressor technology including reciprocating, swash plate, wobble plate, variable compressor, and air brake compressor designs. We are currently hiring for a CAD Designer for our Engineering Department. 

The CAD Designer is responsible for creation and management of 3D models within the scope of our product development. This includes but not limited to, creation of models, drawing revisions, implementation of APQP processes within the design department and project management. Also, an understanding of Product data Management (PDM Vault) and Design Control is a plus.  Must have a knowledge of GD & T. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be involved.

1.Responsible for creation and development of 3D modeling and subsequent drawings from the model in SolidWorks. An understanding of orthographic projection utilizing both ANSI and ISO standards is a plus.

2.Responsible for updating design and drawings according to the ECN process. This includes but not limited to management of designs and models within the Engineering Change Management system.

3.At the discretion of the Design Manager will be tasked with drawing revisions and modifications to maintain uniformity and structure utilizing elements of GD&T.

4.Ensure project timing is maintained within the scope of the Design responsibilities

5.Communicate with staff positioned overseas to clarify and disseminate new designs in conjunction with maintaining current drawings and models.

6.Meet and telecommunicate with customers to ensure their needs and requests are met in a timely fashion

7.Work directly with the development team to review, revise and convey design intent and limitations within the scope of APQP and NPI processes

8.Utilize FEA methodology to ensure structural integrity of components and assemblies


Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experienced in CAD tools, specifically Solidworks and AutoCAD. Experience with Autodesk Inventor is a plus
    • Good communication skills including competent written English
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and Project
    • Familiar with international standards (materials, etc.)
    • Familiar with manufacturing processes and methods
  • Good basic understanding of the air conditioning (AC) cycle, specifically as related to compressors is helpful
    • Experience with measuring tools such as Calipers, Micrometers, CMM and various gages is a plus
